"Dementia" and "Alzheimer's disease"are used interchangeably. But, they're not the same thing. Dementia is an umbrella term that describes the symptoms that occur when the brain is affected by certain diseases or conditions.
There are many causes of Dementia, the most common being Alzheimer's disease.
